Drayson Racing sets record at Goodwood FoS

Lord Drayson set a few tongues wagging at Goodwood Festival of Speed this year as he drove the Lola-Drayson B12/69 EV in its first ever public test. And it wasn’t just a leisurely pootle as many expected – it was a full blooded, record setting lap that placed the car eleventh overall, taking the honour of fastest electric car up the hill ever.

I spoke to Lord Drayson on the day, and he was exceptionally pleased with how the car performed owing to a number of changes made since the car’s high speed testing at MIRA. He was tight lipped at what the next stages would be for the ‘laboratory on wheels’ but hinted it will make appearances at other major motor shows in the coming months.
