Quimera releases new footage of All Electric GT racer
Cleantech group Quimera have released a new snippet of testing footage taken from inside their ground-breaking electric GT car, the AEGT001. Proving that electric race cars are anything but silent, the short video gives a powerful insight into what it’s like to be in the cockpit of arguably the most advanced race car on the planet.
The footage was taken at the Motorland Circuit at Aragón, Spain where former 24h of Barcelona winner Borja Veiga was putting the car through its paces. Although currently limited to 6500 rpm giving a top speed of 160mph you can still get a valuable insight into what the next generation of race cars will sound like. The AEGT is unique; it is currently the only serious electric race car running a conventional six speed ‘box, which you can see being heavily employed during the video.
I can’t wait to finally see this car in the flesh, which will hopefully happen at Autosport International on Thursday. Expect to see a full low-down in the next few days!

Hi Doug, my apologies but the car is limited in revving to 6500rpm. The car was doing 160 MILES PER HOUR on NOV 27 during the test in the footage, no 150km/h!!
We’d really appreciate you amending the incorrect data.
Many thanks in advance
Best regards
Quimera team
Apologies for the confusion and thanks for the correct performance figures, I’ve amended the article to reflect this.
Hi Doug,
Sorry, the article seems to be in the same incorrect redaction and still affirms “Although currently limited to 150km/h”. We kindly ask you to please make the amendment so we can include it correct in our media clipping.
Thanks

For some reason it was showing the old version, my apologies again!
No sweat Doug. Many thanks
